Intel 前些陣子 CPU (型號有 Core 2 Duo、Quad、Extreme) 比如 E6000/E4000 and Q6600/QX6700 這幾款，
凡是這幾款 CPU 的機器都需要更新 Microcode 才不致於進行 TLB 運算處理時，會導致 incorrect records invalidation 做成錯判，可能會導致系統運作不正常或當機或重開機。
如果 OS 是 FreeBSD 的話，記得裝一下 sysutils/devcpu 以及更新 BIOS 保平安。該 port 會同時安裝 sysutils/devcpu-data 會幫你自動更新 CPU microcode。
裝完後，記得在 /etc/rc.conf 內加上 devcpu_enable="YES"這樣下次重開機就會執行了，或者手動打 /usr/local/etc/rc.d/devcpu start 就會立即生效。
ps.這兩個 port是在 2007/05/03 更新時有加上上述更新內容。
其實這算是舊聞了，只是國內好像比較少人提，寫一下做為備忘。

幫 osdc.tw 2008 宣傳一下， 以下摘自 osdc CFP：

對於許多 open source 的開發者來說，所有人總是隨時有新的想法，也隨時都在實做他們的新想法。並且透過分享的方式，不斷的跟所有人分享他們的成果。但是我們還是不能免俗的，希望每年都能讓大家一起來討論更多的創新想法，一起來 hacking。
於是，我們現在又要來大力的徵求 2008 年 OSDC.TW 的投稿。而主題則是「創新與實做」。不管你有任何創新的想法，或是你在最近有什麼實做的內容，都很歡迎來跟其他的開發者一起分享。投稿最後的期限為 2008/2/15，我們也會在投稿期限後公佈相關議程，並隨即開放報名。
至於 2008 年的 OSDC.TW，目前預定的日期為 2008/4/19-20。我們也會盡早將最後確定的時間公佈。

現在幾乎所有 *.FreeBSD.org 機器都已經改跑至少 6.X，甚至 developers 專用機器前幾天也升換到 7.0-CURRENT 了。再過幾天 RELENG_7 就會出來了(RELENG_7 現在已經出來了)，然後就會開始 port tree freeze -> 7.0-RELEASE 跑相關流程了。有興趣的可以抓 http://snapshots.us.freebsd.org/ 這邊去裝看看。
當然啦，建議心臟不夠大顆的或 Production server 用途的還是先用 6.X 即可。
